This Audi TT had two engines and was faster than a McLaren F1

Two turbos is normal, but how about two engines? Say hello to the MTM TT BiMoto, a Frankenstein Audi TT that was twin-engined, created 740bhp and was good for 244mph. Yup, that's faster than a McLaren F1. Watch as Mike Fernie gets far too excited about it.

  • Ah, I wish you'd have looked into the physics of twin engine cars before advising that they both have to work in perfect synchronization. Although I'm not sure with manual trans cars, the Bimoto was auto with DSG. If one engine/trans is accelerating harder than the other engine, it alleviates the load of the lesser contributing engine, allowing it to provide power easier and keeping them both in a closer to equal contribution ratio. There's valuable information online about this. It is in fact, much more possible to build a twin engine auto than most would believe

  • Dude, come on, not hard at all... you talk about how hard it is to tune and balance etc. yeah, computers. Computers. That’s all, computers. If this was a mass production car this would be done easy. We kinda already have dual engine/motor cars, hybrid electric cars, it’s just that one is gas and one is electric. I think that’s the way to do it. Use that gas engine to charge the batteries and kick in when mashing the pedal and the electric motor is at the end of its muscle the gas engine takes over.

  • i dont believe you would need to get them matched as you state at 415 at the end of the day if the front engine had 300 hp the rear 400 would it not just behave like a 4wd car with a 60-40 torque split , if you think of it like a modern 4wd that constantly varies torque having matched engines would /should not matter

Oviouslly the one made such hp with one motor would be faster because of the extra drivetrain weight. The extra weight would affect cornering as well on same chassis smh. It's cool idea but it doesn't make any sense to me.
