  • One of my dads super expensive cars was stolen last year, the local police did nothing but luckily he had a private security company who actually found it 15 hours later in a ditch. It had only its front splitter missing and a few scratches here and there

  • In the real world for those of us who don't have trackers; it depends how interested the officers tasked with finding it are. I was lucky when mine was stolen, it drove past a police car in the early hours of the morning the next day and the officers spotted it and its reg as reported stolen, so went after it. There was 4 blokes in my stolen car and they decided to boot it, so police pursued them until the baddies under-steered my car into the back of a golf and were caught. I got my car back with semi minor damage, not sure what the outcome was for the owner of the golf as it sounded as though that was a write off. I know all 4 blokes went to jail for things like burglary (they'd been robbing chemists with my car), theft of motor vehicle, failure to stop and reckless endangerment so not a bad outcome.

  • Plot twist, the only reason the police bothered doing anything is because they wanted to give May a speeding ticket. In reality the police will do nothing if your car is stolen. There's no point in having a police force any more as far as I'm concerned.

  • This is either woefully out of date or simply fantasy. These days if you report your car stolen the Police will email you a crime number, maybe just maybe fill in a few forms and that's the last you will hear about it. They no longer investigate real crimes and focus more on imagined hate crime.

  • My car was stolen a few years back, called the police, they took my number, that was it. When someone called the police to say that they thought a car had been dumped a few days later, a few miles away from me the police called me to tell me where it was, I picked it up, got it back to my house, asked the cops if they were coming to take fingerprints and stuff, they said it wasn't worth their time, and that was that. IN the real world, the police couldn't give a toss, its too much like hard work to actually find the criminals.
